Please read the clinic descriptions below and select the courses that best suit your club's situation. This section is for Clinic Coordinators - not for referees. Referees should register for clinics here. For questions, please contact us. How To Schedule a Clinic
Types of ClinicsGrade 9 Course: 1-day course that is one of the entry points into the US Soccer Referee Program. Participants who successfully complete this 1-day course are able to be center referees on any U14 recreational game (non-traveling) or any MYSA U9/U10 traveling game (must be older than the players) or be an assistant referee in MYSA traveling games up to and including U14. This is a great way to increase your number of referees with minimal class-time commitment. Bridge Course: This 1-day course was designed for referees who hold a Grade 9 badge and would like to upgrade to a Grade 8 Referee. It is a fast-paced course designed for referees with some practical experience. Grade 8 Course: 2-day course that is one of the entry points into the US Soccer Referee Program. Participants that successfully complete this 2-day course are able to be center referees or assistant referees in any game. Recertification: 1-day course that every returning has to attend to complete the requirements for recertification. Most of these clinics will be hosted and managed by the SRC, but there will be situations when a club will be allowed to host the recert clinic. Responsibilities of the Hosting ClubFacility: The facility chosen must be conducive to a full day of learning. Large classrooms or auditoriums are preferred. Large open spaces such as cafeterias, lunch rooms, libraries and the like, are not a good choice for holding clinics and their use is highly discouraged. Equipment: While the State Referee Committee owns some audio visual equipment that is available for use, it is desirable for the club to provide the following equipment, which is commonly found at any school or community center: Overhead Projector, TV/VCR, Screen, LCD Projector, and a Black/White Board. In cases where a large group is expected in an auditorium setting, a microphone connected to the auditorium PA system is a must. Clinic Coordinator: A club coordinator must be present at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the clinic and remain in the facility until the clinic is completed. The clinic coordinator will assist with the initial setup, participant registration, and will be available to the instructors to assist with any issues as they arise. Cost: Clinic cost per day for Entry Level Clinics is as follows:
For recertification clinics, each referee will be charged $20 plus a $5 administrative fee. Responsibilities of the State Referee Committee (SRC)Qualified Instructors: The SRC will provide an adequate number of instructors to teach the clinic and an administrator to take care of any referee registrations. Equipment: In facilities where AV equipment is not available, the SRC will provide an LCD projector. Materials: The SRC will provide the hosting club
with enough rulebooks, registration forms and any other pertinent
material for the administration of the clinic.
