To Everyone in the Minnesota Referee Development Program,
I will not be seeking re-appointment to the position of Minnesota State Referee Administrator when my term completes at the end of this coming August. My reasons are simple, for the past 5 years my SRA duties have taken almost all of my spare time. My work week is at a minimum of 60 hours and I travel over 100 nights per year. It has become an increasing struggle to find the additional 20-25 hours to attend to the duties that define this responsibility. I have been very lucky in these difficult economic times, that my business has been very profitable; and it is there I must spend my efforts.
My wife has been very supportive since I took the position as the interim SRA in February of 2005. But, as my business develops, I can’t justify taking the time away from her, my children, and grandchildren when I am available.
It has been an honor to lead this program for two terms as the State Referee Administrator. It has been a pleasure serving the referees of every level in our program.
I will be leaving the Referee Program at both the state and national levels. I hope to turn over the program to a new State Referee Administrator on September 1, 2009.
Again, it has been an honor serving this program and I wish all of you the best for your efforts supporting the Minnesota Referee Development Program. Please accept my thanks to all of you for your help over the past five years.
Terry Collins
